Rancho was started in the 1950s in Long Beach, California, as a supply shop for Jeeps. It grew into a business that specialized in suspensions, shocks and off-road performance parts. They started with one of their best-selling shock absorbers in 1985. Rancho was purchased in 1990 by Tenneco Inc., which allowed them to expand to include the first 5-way adjustable shock absorber. This allows the off-roader to make adjustments to the compression/rebound damping as needed. This intelligent shock was the first of its kind. After the RSX intelligent shock, Rancho continued to build and engineer shock absorbers that lead the industry.
The suspension systems, accessories and shock absorbers deliver performance for work and play both on and off the paved path. Tenneco manufactures all of Rancho products. Tenneco also manufactures Monroe shocks and DynoMax Performance Exhaust products. Rancho manufactures the RS5000 shock absorber for the Chevy Avalanche, the RS5000 shock absorber for the Chevy Blazer and the RS5000 shock absorber for the Chevrolet Colorado. Rancho also manufactures steering stabilizers for Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Jeep and more.
